WSCHODNIA

Chorzów   250 m²   Modern

Scope of the project:
A comprehensive interior design project including execution documentation and selection of furnishings and equipment.

Project description:

The project involved creating a coherent concept for both the interior and exterior of a 500-square-metre single-family house in Chorzów. The investors wanted bright and subdued interiors, without the use of black finishes. However, the local zoning plan required roofs in either anthracite or red tones. The starting point was therefore the selection of a rustic red roof tile referencing the style of Italian architecture.

For the rustic brick, I selected timber façade cladding in a tone close to walnut, ensuring that both the roof and façade would share cohesive visual elements. The main material, however, is Milke Long concrete brick, applied vertically or horizontally to define compositional lines that follow the characteristic edges of the building. As a result, the relatively complex building form gained order and harmony.

Similar design principles were applied inside the house - the entire interior was finished with microcement and clay plasters, softened with warm and light wood used in custom joinery and wall finishes. The minimalist and Japandi-inspired interiors were designed to a premium standard.

I also proposed a change in the functional layout of the interior. The double-height space originally intended for the living room was found to be less practical, so I redesigned it as a dining area, further enhanced by pendant lighting suspended above the table. The living room, now located deeper within the house and closer to the garden, gained greater privacy and allowed for more seating arrangements.
