Warsaw 100 m² Japandi
Project scope:
Comprehensive interior design project including detailed construction documentation and furniture, lighting, and material specification.
Project description:
The design process for this interior began with a collection of exceptional references gathered by the clients, which clearly defined the direction from the very beginning. Muted wall colors in natural tones, subtle lighting, and contrasting dark wood immediately stood out as key elements. Thanks to this strong alignment of vision, the project was approved almost without any revisions, something I always greatly appreciate.
The project covered three levels of a townhouse in Warsaw, where warm greige tones and dark oak wood finishes became the defining features of the interior. In the living area, the focal point is a substantial solid wood dining table surrounded by chairs upholstered in soft bouclé fabric. Their shape and texture introduce a sense of contemporary elegance. These elements are set against a custom cable suspended shelving system, which provides a carefully curated display for decorative objects and personal collections.
The kitchen represents a contemporary approach to space planning, where elegance and functionality work together seamlessly. The cabinetry features recessed laminate fronts set within the cabinet structure, creating delicate shadow gaps around their perimeter. This detail adds depth and a refined play of light and shadow throughout the composition. Dark wood surfaces are paired with a light composite countertop, which has been elegantly wrapped onto the fronts of the lower drawers, creating a cohesive and sophisticated visual effect. Subtle plinth lighting enhances the atmosphere and adds warmth to the space.
In the upstairs bedroom, classical elements were introduced through decorative wall mouldings. These details are highlighted by the illumination of a large round mirror positioned behind the bed, complemented by carefully selected bedside lighting. The wall opposite the entrance was finished with vertically slatted wood panels, a motif that continues throughout the project, appearing both in the main bathroom and on the media wall in the living area.
The main bathroom features a distinctive stone effect tile, water cut into narrower strips to create a more textured and bespoke appearance. The tiled wall is divided by a horizontal plasterboard installation that integrates the concealed bathtub fittings while preserving the proportions and functionality of the space.
The clients paid exceptional attention to detail during the implementation phase, which allowed them to recreate the visualized design with remarkable accuracy. This dedication is particularly evident in the completed bedroom and the main bathroom, where the final result closely reflects the original design vision.
