Scope of the project:

A comprehensive interior design project including execution documentation and selection of furnishings.

 

Project description:

This interior design project draws inspiration from the Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic. The space incorporates a wide range of imperfect natural materials that reflect the essence of this philosophy, including raw clay plaster, aged natural wood, Vienna cane weaving, and wicker.

The cabinet fronts and wall claddings will be crafted from natural wood, individually designed, heavily brushed, and custom-stained by a local woodworking studio. The dark walnut-toned wood is intended to contrast with the microcement and clay plaster in similar earthy shades, together creating a cave-like atmosphere.

Another distinctive feature of the project will be the custom-selected freestanding furniture, including vintage pieces, a sofa with loose upholstery, a dining table and desk made from century-old wood, and characteristic wicker pendant lamps suspended above the dining table, living area, and the bed in the master bedroom.

The project is currently under construction and will be carried out under my author’s supervision, allowing me to oversee every detail of the execution. The complete transformation will be documented and shared through the featured stories on Instagram.
