Katowice 100 m² Wabi-Sabi
Scope of the project:
A comprehensive interior design project including execution documentation and selection of furnishings and equipment.
Project description:
The project was created for a pair of doctors from Katowice, whose inspirations strongly referenced Wabi-Sabi interiors with a focus on warm natural wood tones.
The living area was relatively compact, and the clients did not require a large number of dining seats. For this reason, a distinctive layout was designed in which the dining table is integrated with the kitchen island finished in sintered stone. This solution shortened the spatial flow of the living area while still providing sufficient functionality for all zones.
The kitchen island and countertop were made from Neolith Retrostone, a terrazzo-inspired surface that adds depth and texture to the space.
A key feature of the interior is the pendant lighting above the dining table, designed by Ukrainian studio Makhno Products. The texture of the lamps echoes the microcement flooring and the textured plaster walls, creating a cohesive material dialogue throughout the space.
The interior avoids any black finishes, resulting in a light, soft, and visually harmonious composition.
