WARSAW'S CHILDREN

Warsaw   90 m²   Japandi

Scope of the project:

A comprehensive interior design project including execution documentation and selection of furnishings and finishes.

Project description:

Dzieci Warszawy Project is a comprehensive interior design of a 90-square-metre apartment in Warsaw, where the key role is played by the combination of natural materials with Japandi aesthetics and the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. The entire concept was developed in close collaboration with the clients, allowing the design to be refined to perfection and tailored to both their needs and lifestyle.

One of the strongest aspects of this project is the conscious use of natural materials: walnut veneer cabinetry brings warmth and elegance, while a travertine countertop with a raw edge and semi-cylindrical travertine elements on the kitchen backsplash introduce an organic texture to the space. These features not only highlight the high-quality craftsmanship but also align with a calm, nature-inspired palette drawn from Japanese and Scandinavian design traditions.

In the living and kitchen areas, subtle contrasts were introduced between the wooden kitchen elements and slightly darker wall and finish tones. This approach maintains a minimalist character while ensuring the space remains warm, inviting, and expressive.

In the design of the bedroom and private zones, inspiration was drawn from the Wabi-Sabi philosophy - the beauty of simplicity, natural texture, and authenticity of materials. Microcement surfaces, tactile finishes, and subtle imperfect details create interiors that promote relaxation and calm.

Overall, the Dzieci Warszawy project combines functionality with aesthetics. Lightness of form, natural materials, and a muted colour palette create a space that is not only beautiful but also highly comfortable for everyday living. It represents a harmonious balance between Japandi minimalism and the warmth of natural elements, enriched by the emotional depth of Wabi-Sabi philosophy.a
