HOUSE IN SIEMIANOWICE ŚLĄSKIE

Siemianowice Śląskie   231 m²   Architecture

Scope of the project:

Development of the architectural concept, building permit documentation, and comprehensive design of the functional layout, building form, and façade of a single-family house.

Project description:

Designed for a compact 600 m² plot in Siemianowice Śląskie, this project creates a comfortable home for a family of four while maximizing the site's potential. Despite the plot's limitations, the design achieves a spacious 231 m² residence with a flat roof and a contemporary architectural expression.

The building is based on a compact, near-square floor plan that responds to the surrounding context of cubic residential forms. To avoid the appearance of a traditional cube, the massing was visually elongated through the use of slim horizontal canopies at both ground and first-floor levels, giving the house a distinctly horizontal character.

The exterior is finished with a restrained palette of textured renders in varying shades of grey, in accordance with local planning requirements. White canopies contrast with the darker façade surfaces, emphasizing the building’s clean geometry. On the south-eastern elevation, the canopy extends seamlessly over the terrace, further enhancing the elongated proportions. Integrated linear LED lighting adds elegance and a villa-like atmosphere after dark.

The functional layout is carefully organised. The ground floor includes an entrance zone with a vestibule, guest WC, home office, double garage, and utility room. The open-plan living area forms an L-shaped composition, with the kitchen discreetly positioned away from the entrance and the living room and dining area opening toward the south-facing terrace.

A double-height dining space with full-height glazing allows natural light to penetrate deep into the interior while maintaining comfortable conditions in the living area. This feature creates a sense of openness and adds a striking architectural quality to the home.

The upper floor is accessed via a single-flight cantilevered staircase leading to a partially open gallery overlooking the double-height space. An additional workspace is located on the mezzanine with views of the garden. Spacious children's rooms occupy the western side of the floor, while the northern section contains supporting functions including a laundry room, walk-in wardrobe, and bathroom. The master bedroom also benefits from direct views of the garden.

The project demonstrates how a simple reinforced concrete structure can achieve a refined and distinctive architectural identity without relying on complex construction solutions.
